Christ, having just given kneeling Peter key to heaven, stands with flock of lambs; group of apostles surround Peter (John 21:15-17) (BRD) garland of flowers The original borders have been removed; they contained grotesques with mythological & allegorical figures under architectural framework (same borders as the Madrid set & the Mantua set; see related works). This is 1 of 9 panels within this set of the "Acts of the Apostles" series that was presumably was destroyed in Berlin in 1945. The original cartoons designed by Raphael for the Vatican's "Acts of Apostles" are currently housed at the Victoria & Albert Museum (on loan from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II).
