Baby Greenback Turtle - Chelonia mydas heads out to sea at dusk.


Turtle Conservation research Center Sri Lanka Greenback Olive Ridley Loggerhead and Hawksbill turtle eggs are collected from fisherman in the area who gather these eggs from natural nesting sites along the beach the eggs are carefully incubated and hatched and the baby turtles released to the sea The center was totaly destroyed by the 2004 Asian Tsunami but has now been re built and funtions again
