Herman and Maria was baptized Aug. 11, 1885, setapart March 27, 1900, for a mission toTurkey, and was appointed presidentOct. 9, 1900. HINTZE, Ferdinand F., president ofthe Turkish Mission from 1887 to 1889and from 1899 to 1900, was born May. 13, 1854, at Roskilde, Denmark, a sonof Anders Hintze and Karen SophieNikolaisen. He was baptized May 13,1862, emigrated to Utah in 1864, andfilled missions to the NorthwesternStates in 1877-1878 and 1879-1880. Hefilled a mission to Scandinavia in 1885-1887, and one to Turkey in the latter mission he published29,000 tracts in the Turkish and Ar-menian languages.
