HINTZE, Ferdinand F., president ofthe Turkish Mission from 1887 to 1889and from 1899 to 1900, was born May. 13, 1854, at Roskilde, Denmark, a sonof Anders Hintze and Karen SophieNikolaisen. He was baptized May 13,1862, emigrated to Utah in 1864, andfilled missions to the NorthwesternStates in 1877-1878 and 1879-1880. Hefilled a mission to Scandinavia in 1885-1887, and one to Turkey in the latter mission he published29,000 tracts in the Turkish and Ar-menian languages.
