Ghorawadi caves or Shelarwadi caves, District Pune, Maharashtra India : Façade of originally a Buddhist prayer hall (chaitya griha) in which once stood a dagoba (stupa). After the decline of Buddhism circa 7th. Century the site was abandoned and later on tentatively around three hundred years before present the site was occupied by the Hindus in which they installed their own images. Picture shows the later addition of stone masonry.
