This is so far below the capacity ofthe pumps to supply, that a train ofone hundred of these cars could prob-ably have been handled with equalfacility by a single engine. In fact, theair consumption on the grades was justbelow the capacity of a single 9j^, and the demands made upon theair supply for the whole length of therun was well below the capacity of butone of the pumps with which the enginewas equipped.
