In the Croatian war 1991 the Eastern Slavonian baroque town of Vukovar, at the border to Serbia and by the Danube river, was heavily destroyed and became part of the Republic of Serbian Krajina until 1997. The Picture Shows the ruins of the nowadays Dr. FranjoTuđman-Street in April 1999, after the returning of Vukovar to Croatia.
