Steamer "Charles Macalester" On The Potomac River, 1917 or 1918. Paddle steamer that took passengers from Washington DC to Mount Vernon, home of George Washington. The steamer was run by the Mount Vernon and Marshall Hall Steamboat Company, and could accommodate more than 1,500 passengers. Facilities included a ballroom, a saloon, lunch and dinner service.
