If that be fo, it feemsto me moft likely, that thofe of the later fort belonged to moreeminent families; and that in the chefts, or places which wereto be clofed at the top, the matter or head, and perhaps mif-trefs of the family might be laid ; and in the niches in the wallbeyond, the children or branches of it.
