A Dutch bookbinder's workshop, c. 1700 This detailed engraving of a bookbinder's shop placed above a pious verse shows a binder seated at a sewing frame sewing a book while another binder stands at a post, beating folded printed sheets. A bookbinder's plough which is used to trim the edges of books and a gluepot are in the foreground.
