Masked Figure 7th–9th century Veracruz The object depicts a fantastic four-legged being, seated with a long, curled tail. The three-toed front legs support its body. The creature has a long, pointed snout and even longer ears. It has big round eyes and wears a collar around its neck tied under the chin. On the head rest stacked slab-like elements with a five-pointed crest at the top. Remains of black pigment are visible in some Masked Figure. Veracruz. 7th–9th century. Ceramic.
