The historic railroad station in the college town of Davis, California, home to the University of California, Davis. The original depot on the site opened in 1868 but was destroyed by fire. The pictured station was rebuilt on the location in 1914 in the Mission Revival style of architecture by the Central Pacific Railroad which eventually became the Southern Pacific who then owned the tracks and the station. Note the ornamental 'SP' sign on the building exterior representing Southern Pacific. The structure is now owned by the city of Davis, the railroad tracks are owned by the Union Pacific Railroad with the depot served by Amtrak (United States national passenger rail agency). It is one of the region's busiest railroad stations and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
