The freshness of the spring growth allowed the westering sun to glare pleasantly, rim lighting the ground cover. I had pulled over at the site of a cattle watering station, complete with windmill, but for whatever reason, this day was not meant for windmills and water tanks. I trudged down the dual-lane fence road, searching for barrel-shaped cacti that are recently in bloom but found none that afternoon.
