Red fox (Vulpes vulpes) The red fox is native to most of Europe, Asia and North America. In the wild, its diet consists of small mammals, birds, invertebrates and eggs. In the urban environment the fox scavenges household waste for food. Fox hunting has been illegal throughout the UK since 2005. Photographed in Surrey, UK.
