Cordoba, Spain - 16 June 2015 1The Mosque-Cathedral of Mezquita in Cordoba, Spain, is a truly fascinating building with an eventful history. Originally a Visigoth Catholic Church, it was divided into Muslim and Christian halves when Muslims conquered Spain in 711, but shortly afterwards was completely converted into a mosque. The few windows are already beautiful, but I got adventurous and turned them into something more colourful and abstract, using a combination of Photoshop techniques including image folding, rotation, multi-layer blending, transformations and gradient mapping. I hope you like it!
