Lijiang, Yunnan China - 25 October 2006 This craftsman is carving a stone Buddha in the town centre of Lijiang, an ancient city in the northwest part of China's Yunnan province. This is home to the Naxi and several other ethnic minority groups. Dating to the late Song dynasty, its old town encompasses cobblestone streets, canals, lanterns and a very old feel. So this guy using his traditional stone carving skills much in the character of the place.
