SMALL LIMAS, or "BUTTER ; When Henderson's Bush Lima Bean was first introduced, in 1889, Mr. Palmer, an experienced trucker of Chester County, came into our Philadelphia office quite in- dignant one day, saying, " Why, that is no Lima at all,—I have a real busk Lima"—and so lie had ; and after trial we gladly purchased what is to-day famous throughout the world as Burpee's Bush Lima,—the only dwarf Large Lima Bean. But we want to explain to others, as we then did t«. Mr. Palmer, that there are two types of Lima Beans,—those under this heading (like Henderson's Bush Lima), being the Small Lima, Carolina, Sieva or Sewee type, highly esteemed throughout the South as " Butler Beans," and also well worth growing North, as they are hardier, earlier, and immensely productive. They also make good winter shell beans,—in fact, to our taste the New Early Black Lima gives the best-flavored winter shell beans we know. Small Lima, Carolina, Sieva or Sewee. Seed about half the size, but earlier and hardier than the Large Lima. Per pint 25 ets.; quart 45 cts. NEW EARLY BLACK LIMA. This valuable early Pole Lima, first named and introduced by us, is fully ten days to two weeks earlier than any other Limn. The beans arc so full and plump that the ends are J |l|Pra///Mjj|'!.'1 crowded square, and partly overlap each other. The vines possess great vigor and wonderful productiveness, customers widely separated throughout the United States having sent us vines bearing 1647, 1695, 1908, 1954, 2013 pods respectively, by
