CODEPINK and Peace & Justice Center members picket a speech by former Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice in San Jose, CA


Members of the San Jose Peace & Justice Center, hold signs about what they believe to be Former United States Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice’s authorization of the torture of prisoners by the Central Intelligence Agency during the Iraq war. Rice was to give a speech inside of the 2,600 seat San Jose Center for Performing Arts as part of the 2010 Unique Lives & Experiences Lecture series. Rice who had taught and served as Provost at Stanford University, less than 30 km north of San Jose, returned to Stanford’s Hoover Institution as a senior fellow on Public Policy after leaving her position in the Government.
