Griffith, a machine gunner and instructor with the Combine Action Platoon, Company B, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, a member of the Iraqi Security Forces patrol down a street together during a mission in the city here June 26 with Company C Marines. Griffith, a 21-year-old from Cassoday, Kan., leads newly trained members of the ISF on missions in the city to hone their military skills.
