A midsummer pole stands by the shore in Nothamn on Väddö Island, in the Stockholm Archipelago, Sweden. Midsummer poles are usually first decorated with flowers and leaves and then raised on Midsummer's Eve, after which they are left standing, sometimes until next midsummer.
