Maryland State Senator Chris Van Hollen “walks the line” and greets a Maryland Army National Guard soldier who was conducting security in Washington , Jan. 21, 2021. “Walks the line” refers to all of the soldiers who are guarding the fences around capitol grounds. MDARNG has approximately 800 soldiers on duty to conduct security, communication, and logistical missions in support of federal and District authorities leading up and through the 59th Presidential Inauguration.
