This LED bulb was working satisfactorily in a standard lamp with an open ventilated shade. I noticed the cracking and decided to remove the bulb as I was concerned that it might have been a fire risk. The bulb had not been dropped, it appears that the cracking may have been caused by an excessive temperature.
