Weather research being carried out at Kew Observatory, Old Deer Park, Richmond, London, UK. This experiment is simulating the mounting for ship radiation balance meters. Kew Observatory, established in 1769, was an astronomical and geophysical observatory. It included equipment operated by the Met Office, the UK's national weather monitoring and forecasting service. Magnetic and meteorological observations were carried out here until 1980, when the Met Office facilities were relocated. Photographed in June 1965.
