Illustration of the TRUTHS satellite. The European Space Agency (ESA) has awarded Airbus the lead contract for the TRUTHS (Traceable Radiometry Underpinning Terrestrial and Helio Studies) mission. This mission will measure the Sun's radiation and the sunlight reflected off Earth's surface in comparison to an accurate reference. The data collected will be used to enhance climatological datasets and calibrate observations from other satellites as part of ESA's Earth Observation program.
