After the Chesapeake & Ohio, theChicago & Alton is the most importantcomponent part of the new Hawley the three mentioned, the new groupcontains the Minneapolis & St. Louis, theIowa Central, and three smaller roads, theentire collection aggregating 8400 miles, andtapping nearly half the best agricultural andindustrial area of the United States.
