Cotton fields in Isla Mayor, Lebrija, Seville, Spain. The Lower Guadalquivir, a reference area for Andalusian cotton production. Cotton stripper while harvesting a field mature high-yield stripper cotton. Cotton harvesting by means of spindle harvesters that allows for an exponential increase in the quality of the crop. This product is marketed through the Colectivo Algodoneros del Sur de Andalucía (COALSA), and the Cooperativa de la Campiña, another of the large cooperatives in Lebrija. Once the cotton has been processed, it is packed in bales of approximately 200 kg, being stored in batches of 10 units, according to commercial standards.
