The following extract from a letter written atthe time, with a few additions will best describe the oldhome of one branch of the family in England: Charles Joseph Elye Norris-Elye, the oldest son, whorecently took holy orders at Durham University, metme at the station at Louth in a very high wheeled dog-cart. He had thoughtfully brought with him an extraovercoat, for which I was thankful as it was quite coldand that night we had frost.
