Very similar in most characters to the typical species, but with ashorter and less bushy tail, the tip of which has only a few sparseblack hairs. Height at shoulder, 22 to 23 inches. These antelopesare shy and rarely seen in the open, preferring the thick bush and longgrass. If disturbed, they go at a great pace with their heads quiteclose to the ground. The flesh is good.
