Unfinished print with allegories on a very richly decorated monument as a tribute to the Canadian politician Georges Étienne Cartier. His portrait has been depicted twice. At the foot of the monument his bust stands in front of an empty medallion flanked by two sea gods. The medallion was probably intended for a map of Canada. On top of the round list a train is depicted. The second portrait is entirely at the top of a column flanked by two reclining women with different attributes such as books, snakes, stars, measuring instruments, horn and a wagon wheel.
