JAPANESE BARNYARD MILLET (Panicum Crus Galli). This forage plant was introduced in this country by Professor Brooks, of Amherst. It has proven an enormous yielder in all sections of the United States; of the most excellent quality, on any soil, yielding 12 to 20 tons per acre and growing 5 to 8 feet in height. Cattle and horses eat it greedily. Sow in May and June broadcast, 10 to 12 pounds per acre, or in drills, 8 pounds per acre. Prices, lb. 15c. (by mail, postpaid, lb., 25c); 10 lbs., $; bushel of 32 lbs., $, by freight or express. Alsike, Alfalfa, Crimson Clover, Red Clover, White Clover, Hungarian, Kentucky Blue, Millet, Orchard, Red Top, Timothy, Fancy Cleaned Red Top and Lawn Grass; market price. Grass seed vary so much that it is impracti' cable to quote prices in January that will hold after the Spring trade opens. PEAS AND OATS. Timothy. They make a fodder and hay which doubles the production of milk. The Canada Field Pea is the best for this purpose. Sow in April, two bushels of peas and two bushels of oats to the acre. The peas should be sown first and plowed under about four inches; the oats then sown and harrowed in.
