5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (June 17, 2018) Senior leadership from the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) and Amphibious Squadron 4 cut a cake in celebration of Father’s Day in the ship’s Suribachi Memorial Room, June 17, 2018. Iwo Jima, homeported in Mayport, Fla., is on deployment to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
