Sils is a Spanish municipality in the Selva region, in the province of Gerona, Catalonia, located in an area largely occupied by the old Sils lake, dried up in the 19th century. The relief is predominantly flat, as it occupies a large part of the dried-up land that was occupied by the old Sils lake. This depression represents the northern end of what is known as the Catalan pre-coastal depression, a set of lowlands that separate the Coastal Range from the Pre-coastal Range. The territory has numerous streams. The altitude ranges between 140 meters to the northwest (Serra Magra) and 65 meters at Lake Sils. The town rises 79 meters above sea level.
