Annual, about i dm. high, simple or with few to manystems from the base, suberect or spreading, clothed throughoutwith a dense white pubescence: lowest leaves on petioles about20 mm. long, with obovate-cuneate emarginate, dentate leaflets;cauline leaves more inclined to be larger and elliptical; lowerstipules narrow, with a long acumination, becoming broader andshorter towards the summit of the stems: heads in young plantsappearing among the leaves, but later elongating so as to exceedthem, setniglobose, not conical, in pairs, though in young plantsobscurely so, sessile or subsessile
