Scenery along the Franschhoek pass between Franschhoek and Villersdorp on the northern edge of the Franschhoek Mountains known as Middagskransberg, Western Cape, South Africa. Originally known as Olifants Hoek (Elephants Corner) due to the large herds of elephants that crossed the mountains at the change of seasons, treading a defined path which the early settlers followed to cross the mountains. The pass was authorised in 1822.
