Lace is, however, manu-factured in considerable quantities, and thereare several large printing establishments, some ofwhich, before the passing of the English Copy-right Act, were kept very busy by the publi-cation of pirated editions of new English books. A horse and gig for 10 francs, or a saddlehorse for 8 francs, may be hired of Mr. Copper,an Englishman; adjoining the Prince ofOranges Palace. A carriage may be had from the stand for 20francs, including every expense of turnpikes,coachman, &c, holding six persons; but youmust agree to be taken to La Belle Alliance, thefarthest point, or the driver will stop at Mont 50 THE RHINE
