Celtic moneyer's test piece. Stater

This is a unique and hitherto unknown Celtic bronze coin. It's origin and meaning have puzzled all the well known Celtic experts. It was found on a well known roman site at Kirmington North Lincolnshire. The consensus is this coin is from Belgic Gaul from around 1st century BC. Although it is a genuine Celtic coin it doesn't fit into any of the known tribes of the area, the CORIELTAUVI. This is possibly a test piece made by the moneyer and therefore very rare. Celtic coin index number 16mm.
