Pool of rainwater in bore hole in moss-covered rock, reflecting the sky and overhead tree branches and early spring leaves. Rock is located along a mountain stream in northeast Pennsylvania. Bore holes are formed over thousands of years as flood waters scour out depressions in rocks using suspended gravel and sand as abrasives. Small needles around hole have fallen from nearby eastern hemlock trees.
