St Isaac's cathedral church is the largest cathedral in St. Petersburg. The neoclassical exterior and gold dome are not in the traditional Orthodox school, but the buildings is true to the Russian Byzantine tradition of a Greek-cross plan with central dome and four subsidiary domes.
