NICHOLAS STAMP PAGE. 1 2 A LARGE number of stamps is required to fill thepages of the printed album which contains spacesfor all varieties that have been issued. It is, therefore,well for the young collector in beginning his collectionto provide himself with an album which does not makeit necessary that he should have all the stamps of a coun-try in order to fill its pages. An album which providesspace enough for what one is likely to get is much betterthan a complete book. The practice of attaching stampsto the pages by means of paper hinges makes it possibleto remove them whenever desired, so that a completealbum providing spaces for all issues may be obtainedwhen the collection is large enough to make this worthwhile. It is well, also, in beginning a collection, to secure,if possible, a large packet of stamps. A thousand vane-ties may be obtained now for what a few hundred costnot many years ago.
