Dynjandi waterfall ,also known as Fjallfoss, in the Westfjords in Iceland

Dynjandi also known as Fjallfoss is the favorite Westfjords waterfall and we think by far the most spectacular one in the remote Westfjords (Vestfirðir) region. Befitting of this notion is that the word "dynjandi" means "thunderous" in Icelandic. It's actually a series of waterfalls (seven in all) with a cumulative height of 100m. We noticed that each section of the waterfall had a signposted name corresponding to it (the subtiers are called Bæjarfoss, Hundafoss, Hrísvaðsfoss, Göngumannafoss, Strompgljúfrafoss, and Hæstajallafoss, respectively). The main uppermost tier was the one that we photographed the most (as shown above) since it was most notable with its trapezoidal shape (30m wide at the top, 60m wide at the bottom).
