Cpl. Hanson of the 107th Regiment Engineers, 32nd Division, is seen clearing debris from the streets of Cierges, France. The wreckage, which reached a depth of 3 feet in some places, had to be swiftly removed to accommodate the ongoing movement of American supply trains, artillery, and troops. The photograph was taken on February 18, 1918, and released by the Censor on November 22, 1918.
