It is character-istic of these locomotives that when the first one was putin operation it came up to the requirements of the service atonce, and continued to do so until, after a months time, it wastaken out of the service for a day for inspection. The locomo-tives haul passenger trains up to 250 tons in weight and freighttrains up to 400 tons. Fig. 23 shows a freight train at Colicostation. During the tests with these locomotives a dynamometer carwas put between the locomotive and the other part of the train,which permitted a measure of the draw-bar pull and speed ofthe locomotive as a function of the time and of the test made with these locomotives covered thirty succes-sive startings with a train of 400 tons to a speed of 30 km attime intervals of 120 seconds.
