Hovertravel Isle of Wight operates a fast and frequent hovercraft service between Southsea (Portsmouth) and Ryde on the Isle of Wight. Solent Express, seen here departing Ryde Terminal, is a diesel-powered hovercraft providing 36 extra seats compared to previous fleet members Freedom 90 of and Island Express. This hovercraft has been in passenger service since 8th June 2007
