Older plants of the twospecies may be most readily distinguishedby the sepals, which in the regia are spinyalmost, or quite, to the tip, while the sepalsof Cruziana are smooth, except at the differences are shown in the leafcolouring. In the earlier stages, the upper surface ofthe young leaves of the Cruziana appearsbright green and seems to be divided by anetwork of depressed reddish-coloured veinsinto a more or less concentric arrangement ofqu
