Evgeniy Semeonovich Matveev (born March 8, 1922 in Novoukrainka, Kherson province, Ukraine, USSR - died June 1, 2003 in Moscow, Russia) is an acclaimed Soviet - Russian actor and film director. He was honored with a People's Artist of the USSR in 1974. He is best known as Nagulnov in Podniataya Tselina based on Mikhail Sholokhov's novel and Nekhludov in "Resurrection" based on Leo Tolstoi's novel.
