SEABECK, Wash. (Aug. 22, 2018) – Capt. Alan Schrader, commanding officer of Naval Base Kitsap, right, and personnel from the Navy and the Department of Natural Resources, pose for a photo opportunity following a signing ceremony onboard Old Man IV to protect marine habitat and Navy operations space along 32 miles of Hood Canal’s eastern shore. The easement covers 2,485 acres of state-owned aquatic bedlands and prohibits new commercial or industrial construction such as wharfs, piers, platforms, and structures.
