In my series of articles five years ago I published the following interestingsummary from the pay roll of a large and successful Piedmont section cottonmill, and I am presenting in connection with this statement a pay roll of five yearssubsequent, showing the comparative wages in the various departments in 1902 and1907. The increase, as will be noted, is over 43 per cent in the actual average payper day for the operatives in the same mills:cottonmillsofsou00kohn. 41
