Bodhisattva, probably Padmapani Lokeshvara 10th–11th century Nepal (Kathmandu Valley) This bodhisattva, richly bejeweled and crowned, holds a flywhisk in his raised hand, indicating that he was designed to attend an image of the Buddha. Stylistically, this work belongs to the transitional post-Licchavi period, when eastern Indian Pala influences are evident in the greater adornment and elaboration of Bodhisattva, probably Padmapani Lokeshvara. Nepal (Kathmandu Valley). 10th–11th century. Gilt copper alloy. Licchavi–Thakuri periods. Sculpture
