Carlisle House Boarding School was located on Carlisle Lane until 1827, which runs from Westminster Bridge Road to the eastern wall of Lambeth Palace, named after Carlisle House, which stood here between the thirteenth and sixteenth centuries. It was originally the palace of the Bishops of Rochester, but afterwards becoming the property of the bishopric of Carlisle, it was called Carlisle House.
