Elephants gather at a spring fed waterhole on the banks of the Mwagusi sand-river in the Ruaha National Park. the Mwagusi drains a large area of the escarpment in the west of the Park, but the rain fall is intermittent and the Mwagusi is often a dry river bed so the elephants ability to find water helps many other animals.
