The American florist : a weekly journal for the trade . ntal and trial has been grown and increased by me since 1904, and has been planted in all kinds of soil, andunder most every climatic condition, and haS neVCr failed tO make ^OOd. If this can be truthfullysaid of any other variety of equal or superior merit, I want it. THIS is the Grandest WhiteVariety ever offered inthe world, and the inter-national title of PEACE wasselected for this valuable type, wiich will become a standardvariety and secure a permanentplace in every country whenknown. This variety is not only new, distinct and of more thanspecial merit, bnt it has won-derful vitality, which will in-sure perfect satisfaction underall reasonable conditions. The plant is most Strikingand attractive, its massive pro-portions, broad heavy foliageof a rich green, erect and vig-orous habit of growth, giveevidence of the constitutionand vigor, rare in light-col-ored hybrids. These qualitiesare further proven by the ex-ceptional repro<luctlve pow-ers, by offsets and MATURED bulbs are largesmooth and practicallyimmune from disease, and produce plants five feethigh, before the bloom spikeappears. The flowers are large, ofgood form and correctly placedon a heavy Strajght are a beautiful wlllte, with a pale lilac feathering onthe inferior petals. As a cut flower, there is novariety which will developbetter, and for the garden Ihave yet to find its equal. In placing the price of thisvariety within the reach ofevery adrnirer of the Gladiolus,I do so with the greatest confi-dence in its future popularityand that it supplies a long feltwant, especially to the florist. PEACE is not as earlybloomer, but rather medium tolate, and planted at the sametime with other stock, it is inits best condition when mostother varieties have passedblooming, it is therefore ofexceptional value to the floristat this time when there are fewother light-colored flowers inbloom. 1 PEACE* fOrnfF Awarded certificate
